My First Book Project

If you’re working on a manuscript or book idea, you’re invited to join me as I publish my debut book, A Diary of a Writer’s Wife.

Supported by Arts Council England, I am currently developing a project Diary of a Writer’s Wife. This project includes the publication of my debut book of the same name: January 2026 through @masterandman Books.

It began as a private record of life after loss, written in the wake of my husband Alan Forrest Smith’s passing—a writer, whose presence gave the work its title. It became an intimate space for thoughts, lessons, and inspirations from behind the scenes of a writer’s life.

On one hand, it journals daily life from the perspective of both a writer and a writer’s wife. It lays bare the vulnerability of a widow with young children, yet also reveals an inner voice discovering the courage to reinvent life when change arrives.

I am a writer

I am a Writer’s wife

I work with writers

I run writing as a business.

Books put bread on the table

And pen is the tool I use to continue building our lives.

As a writer I write with a deep desire to express inner voice while preserving and evolving the legacy of another.

Though deeply personal, the journey resonates with anyone navigating transition, major life changes, or a shift in identity.

Through daily observations, I reflect on the process of moving through loss, accessing inner creativity, to step from past into future, allowing the natural cycles of life to unfold without resistance, and ultimately finding space for healing, purpose, and new hope within this new identity.

Much of daily life can seem uneventful—household chores that feel like a hobby. Yet even in the ordinary, life continues to unfold. Painful as it is to face both the loss of a loved one and the identity built around that old life, a new one inevitably begins to take shape. This journey has taught me the importance of tapping into shared human values - love as true medicine, creativity as a voice of the soul, and the art of allowing goodness to rise from change.

Right now, I am working through a developmental edit to shape the manuscript into a publication-ready book.
